Monday morning = new pots....

Tea cup / Yunomi: With brushed white slip, Red River silt and copper splashes.
Stoneware: 7.5cm x 8cm

£17.00

Drinking bowl: Falmouth Clay with finger wiped white slip and copper splashes.
7cm x 11.5cm
£NFS

This bowl is part of a small collection made for my friend, Kathryn Tyler. I dug some clay from the foundations of her new build. After a time of processing and testing the clay I have produced  a collection of bowls and beakers for Kathryn to use.
A real pleasure to take the raw material from the ground on which the house that the pots will be used in was built. This idea taps into everything I hold dear when it comes to the process of making pots, taking a base element and turning it into objects to have, hold and enjoy.

The workshop looked productive last night as I walked out, so I thought I would take a quick pic to share....

Foot rings

A couple of pics of the new Yunomi with focus on the foot rings. After a period of not stamping my work I have started to stamp again. Although its not always possible on some forms as I feel that it would spoil the look and feel of the objects.

More Yunomi fresh from the wheel.......

10 of each of the other shapes. One with a tall foot ring and a tapered version which will have a shallow foot ring. They will end up around 8cm x 8cm

And 20 became 18

Turned the foot rings on twenty teacups, well eighteen in the end after a couple of fatal mishaps.
Slipped and decorated them with Red River Silt and white slip......
Fingers crossed they will fire up well as part of the next firing.
